Guest Tickets and Seating Arrangements

Guest Tickets
All graduates attending the ceremony will receive four (4) guest tickets. Each ticket admits one guest to both the Opening Ceremony and the appropriate Academic Unit Ceremony.

If you are out of state and unable to claim your tickets in person, you must email Stacey Pitts (spitts1@iit.edu) , requesting that your tickets be mailed to you. This email must include your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, and the number of tickets you are requesting (four maximum). These tickets will be mailed after Graduate Salute; all requests for mailed tickets must be received by April 25, 2008, or your tickets will be redistributed to other students.

If you have requested additional tickets (two maximum), you will be notified via email on April 25 if your request can be accommodated. Your notification email will include information about how to obtain the additional tickets.

Important: please inform the Special Events Office at the Graduate Salute if you will not need all or any of your tickets. These extra tickets will be distributed to students who have requested them. Thank you for your help with this matter.

The deadline to request additional tickets has passed. The last day to apply was Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

Seating Arrangements
Please make sure to give your guests their tickets prior to the Commencement ceremonies. Anyone without a ticket will not be allowed to enter either of the ceremonies. The Opening Ceremony will last about 1 ½ hours with no intermission. Please advise your guests accordingly.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early. Gates for the Opening Ceremony will open at 9 a.m. for guest seating. All guests, including children, must be seated by 9:45 a.m. All seats are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests arriving after 9:45 a.m. will not be allowed to enter the Opening Ceremony until after the procession and the singing of The Star Spangled Banner.

Guests with special seating needs please make advanced arrangements. Guests should approach ceremony ushers about special seating for the disabled or elderly. One companion may remain with the disabled or elderly person. Hearing-impaired guests who would like a sign language interpreter or other guests who require special seating needs should contact Stacey Pitts as soon as possible at 312.567.3130 or email spitts1@iit.edu.

Seating is limited. Tickets and individual seats are required for all guests over age 2. There will be a designated area for strollers.
