COMMENCEMENT EVENTS
The 2008 IIT Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Congratulations to our IIT graduates! We look forward to celebrating this milestone occasion with you and your families.
Date: Saturday, May 17, 2008
IIT Commencement will consist of separate celebratory events: an Opening Ceremony and Academic Unit Ceremonies
10–11:30 a.m.
All bachelor’s, graduate, and Ph.D. students will attend the Opening Ceremony.
This is an outdoor event; please dress appropriately for the weather. Please check the forecast prior to the event. Severe weather plan will be available 48 hours prior to Commencement on IIT’s main website, www.iit.edu. Or call 312.567.3000.
noon–2 p.m.
Students will attend separate events based on college or academic unit affiliation. Each student will receive four (4) tickets for guests. This ticket will admit each guest into the Opening Ceremony and the Academic Unit Ceremony. Please review the link called Academic Unit Ceremonies to view the location for your Academic Unit Ceremony. NOTE: all tickets are color coded with the name of the ceremony on the ticket.
Begins at 7:30 a.m. and will run throughout campus until 3:30 p.m. The shuttle service routs also includes U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox) parking lot to campus. Shuttle buses will also be provided after the Opening Ceremony for those guests who can not walk to their Academic Unit Ceremony. Drop off and pick up locations will be marked with signage on campus and in the Opening Ceremony program.
All on-campus parking lots will be available for parking. IIT guests also will have access to the U.S. Cellular Field (White Sox) parking lot. Please review the link called Directions/Parking to review a campus map that shows all on campus parking lots.
